JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A lawmaker from easte Nangarhar province on Monday lashed out at the unity govement for what he said failing to deliver on its promises and taking no steps to resolve people’s problems. Faridoon Momand, a lower house of parliament or Wolesi Jirga member, was addressing a gathering of tribal elders at his residence in Jalalabad, the provincial capital. SHEBRGHAN (Pajhwok): A boy has killed his six years old sister while playing with a hunting gun in Mangjak district of northweste Jwzjan province, an official said on Monday. Mohammad Reza Ghafoori, the goveor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident took place when a seven years old boy was playing with a hunting gun and mistakenly pressed its trigger. He said the gun fire hit the girl and killed her. GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Local officials on Saturday said security situation in southe Ghazni province was deteriorating with each passing day after the Ministry of Interior (MoI) downsized police force in the province. Hamidullah Nawroz, head of the Provincial Council (PC) told Pajhwok Afghan News Ghazni was promoted to the first rank from the second rank provinces but the govement provided no facilities deserved by the first rank category. GARDEZ (Pajhwok): The reburial of Habibullah Kalakani, known as Afghanistan’s bandit king, triggered a protest in southeaster Paktia province on Friday. Kalakani was reburied in Kabul hours after an attack on the people carrying his coffin. At least four people were injured and one security official killed. Kalakani served as king for a few months in 1929. He led the revolt against King Amanullah’s modeisation plans with the help of various tribes. A number of political figures, including former Balkh goveor Atta Mohammad Noor, ex-intelligence chief Amrullah Saleh and others, held a ceremony for the reburial of Kalakani and 16 of his aides.
